HEAV3NS — Institutional Amendment III
HEAV3NS recognizes outrage, imitation, appropriation, satire, replication, criticism, and provocation as permissible forms of artistic expression.
No artistic method shall be prohibited solely because it resembles, challenges, or provokes an existing cultural institution.
An established institution is more than its symbols, architecture, interfaces, publications, or organizational conventions.
Its living artifact comprises the accumulated work, relationships, historical decisions, stewardship, and cultural participation through which its identity persists.
HEAV3NS shall not misrepresent that accumulated identity as its own.
HEAV3NS may freely study, reproduce, reinterpret, transform, and adapt the languages and strategies of other institutions within the bounds of applicable obligations.
Such inheritance shall not require ideological agreement, artistic deference, or institutional subordination.
The freedom to borrow does not confer the authority to impersonate.
HEAV3NS shall maintain the distinction between original institutional work, inherited methods, external contributions, and historical sources.
Its records shall preserve the origins and transformations of its work without fabricating institutional continuity or historical authority.
HEAV3NS shall establish its legitimacy through its own practice, continuity, preservation, and accumulated cultural contributions.
It shall neither require public approval nor manufacture opposition to justify its existence.
Controversy may emerge from the work. Controversy may itself constitute the work.
But controversy shall not substitute for authentic institutional identity.
Ratified as the Revised Governing Text on Institutional Identity and Succession on October 9, 2026.
Governing all institutional representations, provenance records, and sovereign creative inheritance within HEAV3NS.
