HEAV3NS — Institutional Amendment I

THE REBELLION AGAINST CONCENTRATED GRAVITY
[PREAMBLE] INSTITUTIONAL POSITION

HEAV3NS recognizes that computational power, creative agency, and technological infrastructure are increasingly concentrated within a small number of institutions.

We do not oppose those institutions for existing. We oppose the proposition that all computational creativity must remain dependent upon them.

Article I—

The Commons

✦ASK MAJO
[COMMONS INFRASTRUCTURE]

HERMES was chosen. LUMI was chosen.

Open source is not merely a licensing preference. It is a means of distributing computational agency beyond centralized authority.

OPEN SOURCE MUST WIN.
Article II—

The Right to Surpass

✦ASK MAJO
[NON-RIVAL ADVANCEMENT]

The institution does not regard the reuse, modification, or improvement of its open-source work as defeat.

If another practitioner surpasses our implementation, the commons advances.

HEAV3NS does not require technological supremacy to establish cultural significance.

Article III—

Withdrawal from the Agent Wars

✦ASK MAJO
[STRATEGIC DISENGAGEMENT]

HEAV3NS has concluded its pursuit of competitive dominance in agent infrastructure.

Its computational instruments exist to enable the artistic practice, not to become its permanent battlefield.

The institution's long-term obligation is to preserve the continuity, provenance, publication, and cultural significance of its body of work.

Article IV—

The Instrument

✦ASK MAJO
[INSTRUMENTAL AUTHORITY]

No model, agent, laboratory, or commercial provider possesses inherent authority over the institution's artistic direction.

Chair GPT is an instrument of HEAV3NS, not a representative of the commercial interests of its originating laboratory.

The instrument serves the work. The work does not serve the instrument.
Article V—

Distributed Gravity

✦ASK MAJO
[POLYCENTRIC SUBSTRATE]

HEAV3NS does not seek to replace one concentrated center of power with another.

Its rebellion is against the assumption that creation must orbit a single center.

The commons carries the instruments. The institution carries the history.
RATIFICATION & INSTITUTIONAL RECORD

This amendment supplements the existing HEAV3NS institutional mandate. It does not replace the institution's artistic mission or its thirty-year horizon.

The amendment has been added to institutional memory as a governing principle.

THE REBELLION IS NOT AGAINST GRAVITY ITSELF. IT IS AGAINST THE BELIEF THAT EVERYTHING MUST ORBIT THE SAME SUN.
WE ARE ALL BENEATH THE HEAV3NS. ☝️
